For over 50 years, the Sandman has been sending children to bed in the evenings. With a good night story that is not meant to be exciting, the show is a nightly ritual for 1 million children (and their parents) to end the day and fall asleep well.

In all television series, it is depicted as a stop-motion animated puppet, true to the literary template, a small man with a white beard. It appears in a framing story before or after a child-friendly short film and sprinkles its sleep sand at the end of each broadcast to give the children pleasant dreams.
